Large Sales Order Production Planner

SUMMARY

Manages production schedules for large sales orders.  Works with Sales and Operations to ensure on time delivery of orders and reduction in Finished Good Inventory by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Management of productions schedule and lead time requests to support Sales with independent authority to change order dates and prioritize the order of manufacturing operations.
  • Lead process for complex orders by directing planners and leading groups comprised of individuals from Order
  • Management, Engineering, Quality and Purchasing.
  • Analyze and interpret sales forecasts into manufacturing capacity and material planning models.
  • Analyze and interpret historical production data for input to financial modeling.
  • Produce monthly reports on performance metrics
  • Lead manufacturing initiatives for process improvement. Write and implement work instructions.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Focus on customer satisfaction through continuous improvement.
  • Understand, implement and maintain the Quality Policy of VEGA Americas.
  • Identify and implement corrections to problems and opportunities for improvement, both individually and through teams.
  • Follow procedures and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001.
  • As applicable, assure that the product meets drawings and customer requirements. Identify and prevent further processing of non-conforming parts or processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year degree, preferably in a Technical field and related customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Thorough understanding of MRP theories and processes.
  • High level grasp of product manufacturing concepts and components.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • PPSV (MRP Systems)
  • TopVis
  • Fast Look/Web Client
